Enrollment open for Indy Summer Learning Labs: Families can now sign up for the summer learning and enrichment program that includes in-person math and reading instruction. The learning labs run from June 15 to July 17 at 62 different sites for students entering first to ninth grade in the fall of 2026. The program is free, but there may be fees for before and after care as well extended weeks. Breakfast and lunch are included. More information and how to enroll: indysummerlearninglabs.com/enroll
Ivy Tech trustees to meet: The State Board of Trustees for Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana will meet on Wednesday and Thursday in Richmond. Public meetings include: 1 p.m. Wednesday is the education session of the board, board committees will meet Thursday from 9: 30 a.m. to noon Thursday, and the regular meeting of the board is at 1 p.m. Thursday. The meetings are at 2357 Chester Blvd, Richmond, IN.
New scholarship for Ivy Tech nursing students: The Dr. Harry Brickley Farm Foundation gave a $3.4 million gift to the Ivy Tech Marion campus to support nursing students. The donation creates the Dr. Harry Brickley Nursing Scholarship Program, “covering full tuition and fees for 30 nursing students per year starting with the 2026-2027 school year,” per a news release.
Support for creative classroom ideas in Lawrence: A $1 million gift from the Ron and Laura Frieden family to the Lawrence Township School Foundation will endow the foundation’s Creative Impact Grants. The grants give money to educators for the classroom to “bring creative, innovative, and transformative ideas to life,” per a news release. The ideas include classroom technology, STEM education and more.
